Out of 2012

Today I had a training session at New Cross Hospital for my EPO injection. EPO is a hormone that the kidney usually produces, but as those are kind of buggered, I now have to inject manually due to officially being anemic.

Anyway, I’ve always been a bit squeamish about injecting myself (hence never taking up smack), but managed to inject the needle into my belly nonetheless.

Other EPO Facts

  • It’s the hormone that famous athletes use the enhance their performance. So it must be good.
  • Each dose costs £100. I have to use one a week. Thanks to the lovely NHS, I get these all for free.
  • Erm… that’s it.
